Some addresses describe not just a geographical location, but the fate of an era. "P.O. Box 213 Diyarbakır" was such an address.
It was the only fragile link between Diyarbakır No. 5 Prison—established after the September 12, 1980 coup and the epicentre of Turkey's deepest social trauma—and the outside world. Hopeful letters dropped into that box; from it emerged only words filtered through censorship. Cries and truth remained locked behind those stone walls.
Orhan Miroğlu, who entered through that iron gate as "an accused" in his youth and paid a heavy price, returns to those corridors years later not as a victim but as the writer and director of this story.

Orhan Miroğlu is a multifaceted intellectual who has witnessed Turkey's political history of the last half-century, stood at the centre of social trauma, and turned that witness into intellectual work and victimhood into civil political struggle.
Born in Midyat, Mardin in 1953. He was imprisoned in Diyarbakır Prison following the September 12, 1980 military coup. He served as Mardin MP in the 25th and 26th terms of parliament.
